Looks like next app update will have mid iron distance fixes.

Skytrak wrote:I'll leave you with some good news. Assuming nothing goes drastically wrong, the mid-iron ball flight update will be submitted to Apple by the next time I post. See you tomorrow

Is there any software that goes with this for example. Can you play online or tournaments or have any courses. Or is this just a training device I know you can take to the driving range.

Skytrak has partnered up with Trugolf for e6 and e6 cloud. They have also partnered with WGT. There might be others as well that they have yet to announce.

They are currently testing integration with all the above software.

As soon as there's a sim software available, I'll be all over it. As much as I've loved owning the optishot, I need something more realistic without breaking the bank.

Couldnt agree more.. for what it is Optishot is fantastic, but at times (as youll see if you watch my videos from today) its so frustratingly unrealistic it makes me not want to use it.

Hopefully skytrak is the answer and provide the next step up at a reasonable price

Psgolfer

Be great as you have both optishot and skytrak if you could somehow hit shot on both at same time, and do video of side by side comparison

Not sure if possible but maybe just aim the skytrak laser on the teeing point on opti

Then have Opti on ya projector and ya ipad in view too. Even better if could use say obs or another piece of software and have the two sources side by side. That would be awesome

Hit say a drive on opti and then compare what opti says and what skytrak says

Would love to see the difference or similarity

I've thought of how to that. I think the best option would be opti on the screen and the ipad a few feet in front of the recording device. Now that being said, I don't typically have a ton of time to put that together. In my video I had the skytrak laser on the same point where I put my ball for opti.

That being said, I have a driver I use just for opti (I don't want to tape up my new 915). I also have a putter I use for opti (again don't want to tape up the versa). I'll let you know if I have time and get a chance to play around with it.

Outch...now you got me interested in switching from Optishot to SkyTrak. :D
The delay after a shot seems a bit annoying though.

I will use my Optishot next winter to at least but I will keep an eye on the development and integration with simulators.

When connect to a PC for sim software, the delay is down to around 3 seconds I believe. The GC2 has about 1-1.5 delay. 3 is not bad in my book, considering the price of SkyTrack.

With TGC there is a delay and some guys don't like it, but honestly it's something that never bothered me. I heard they fixed it a bit in the last update, so that might help. 3 seconds on skytrak might be long tho, but I suspect that with SIM integration running off a real PC that it might be less?

Hey Racerman, like anything else, you get used to it. Think of it as your wife painting the livingroom Orange (she did that to me), you hate it at first, but after a period of time, you get used to it. Just learn to accept it. The opti has about a 1/2 second delay, it's surprisingly very quick. I'm not going to turf my opti just yet (I own alot of platinum courses).

Here's my thing though..... do you have buddies that come over to play? I don't, you know why, cause I have to tape clubs, calibrate clubs, input offsets........on and on. It's actually kind of embarrassing when you build a new house and I tell my friends, ya it's just to much work for you to come play. So I had a few reasons why I wanted to upgrade (been looking at GC2 for a couple years, but 8K Canadian plus software costs was just out of my justified price range.

That being said.......I do sell the Skytrak and will ship overseas. If you look on eBay I'm listed there user-psgolfer. I've already sold one to Great Britain (bought it last Wednesday and received it today). I ship UPS Saver so you get in 2 business days and takes 2 business days to get to me.

I've done this and you quickly realize how inaccurate optishot is, assuming you believe that skytrak is accurate which i do. Optishot is fun, cheap and can be somewhat accurate on average over a number of swings.

SKYTRAK UPDATE:

Today

Hi everyone, I need to pop in and give an update on v1.8.5 since it has taken a ridiculously long time to be approved by Apple. With full transparency, the app sat for over a week, then came back rejected - we were finally able to trace it back to an issue with Unity...not our software. It was resubmitted to Apple last week and has been sitting ever since. None of us can understand what is taking so long unless Apple is just behind. Trust me, I want this out more than anybody.

To address a few more posts:

- I know the shield/riser went back to design to have a level integrated. That design has been approved so I'll just need to check on when they are supposed to be ready, as I'm not really involved there.
- Sim options will be for iPad and for PC. Don't quote me on this, but I believe that sim on iPad will be via streaming - simply due to local storage and graphics limitations.
- I hear you on the syncing stuff. That's our main focus with v1.8.6. We will be addressing all sync and local database display issues. This should be about a 1 month project. There's a lot going on behind the scenes.

Finally, I'm always hesitant to post dates on here. With a lot of moving parts to this thing, there's always something that can go wrong and then something gets delayed. I love to be able to give you guys the 'inside scoop' on stuff when I can, but please understand that dates may be subject to change. Business-wise, the intelligent thing to do is remain silent until something is released. However, you guys have always provided excellent feedback, so when you make requests on when new features will be out, I think it's fair that I do my best to try and accommodate. On the same note, I just don't have the bandwidth to always monitor this forum. So if I 'go dark', it's not because I don't care about you or because I'm hiding something - it's because I'm working my ass off to make this product better.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you guys are an invaluable tool to the success of this product. Thanks for all of your comments and suggestions.

Update on Speed:

It really depends on the device.

iPad Air 2 is around 4 seconds. Air around 5 seconds. PC will be more like 2 seconds-instantaneous.

- I'm running an ipad mini v2.
