Here we go. This was great fun and the match went back and forth a few times to keep the suspense up.
But in the end as you can see one of us could not take the pressure :(
So now it's up to Nick and sfr to settle this.

mpags hosted and the experience/lag was not bad at all. We tried with me hosting but mpags game would not load.
My up speed is faster and I guess it would have worked if we would have tried again but it was like "why try to fix it when it's not broken"

Had a great time. Enjoyed getting to meet and play with Tretee. For those multiplayer newbies, as myself, Teamspeak is a must. The chance to interact with playing partners really makes the experience not far off from RealLife(TM) golf.

Match: USA (AnonGregg - Listed as Player in Red) vs World (Shanky)
When combined with the cards for USA (Ryan) vs World (v8), USA wins 4 and 3. Good match

Tournaments Tab issue has been resolved. No need to setup matches manually any more, use the pre setup ones from the tournaments - public tab.

Youll still need to screenshot cards etc as per the Tournaments procedure here:

Well we got it done, lag up in the 2s region, neither of us had scorecards, and i disconnected 4 times i think. Luckily resume worked each time. only record of the scores is the text reports as below. It doesnt show hole 18, but Dirk (Pinseeker) scored 3 and I scored 4

Great fun. I had a little bit of lag on watching the shots, but not a big deal.

well played guys.
Quick question , when people say lag on multiplayer do they simply mean delay?
During my online match with Ryan I was unable to see any of my shots at all - the ball would move about 1 yard and then freeze and I just had to wait to see where the ball finished on the map. Could I have a wrong graphics setting somewhere ?

Yeah that is lag.

During the game is you press the gear icon in the top right (opens settings) you will see your latency figure next to your name. Should be between 90 and 200ms to have a nice smooth game. Any more than this you will get experience delays in the time it takes for the shot to show on your screen launching, ball flight wont be shown correctly etc. Basicaly if that latency figure is red, its not good.

There is a bug of sorts in the network code it seems where lag seems to jump up very high, often in the 1 - 5 seconds area, sometimes even much more than that, rendering the game almost unplayable.

:D :D . 5-7ms. That means you are hosting and the latency is between your game and the server on your machine.
5ms is super fast and you only get that when you host or play alone.
Normal network latency for connections on the same continent/country should be in the 20 - 40ms range.
For US - EU it's more like 50 - 200ms. Not sure about other continents but I would assume it's similar.

Your local setup depending on quality could add latency as well.
Ethernet cable is best and adds "nothing" WiFi adds 10ms or way much more than that depending on a lot of factors.
And then it goes on and on depending how you are connected to the Internet. E.g. 3G & LTE modem, ADSL, fiber etc ...

Oh, so lower is better? I am playing alone, have never hosted a game. Not exactly sure what this all means, sorry for my ignorance. Could I possibly host a game? My internet down and up speeds are very low.

Yeah lower is better. Latency = delay between your PC sending the message and receiving a reply.
If you can host or not is usually limited by your connections ability upload data to others.
Easiest way to know is to try it.
I am working from home most days and can do testing at times where normal people work.
Let me know if you want to give a go.

Could those that have not completed yet (or Captains if you are aware) please provide an update of where we are in terms of scheduling the remaining matches. Also please let me know Tekbuds replacement so can amend the scoring site. Cheers

Me and Brian played last night. We had problems with the leaderboard so the scores are in an text file on my sim computer. I wasn't in a rush to post them after 4 putting a dead straight 8 foot birdie putt on 17 lol. I'll post it later today when I boot it up. Thanks for the round, Brian! Go get em Jase!
