The Effects of Altitude

Following on from a discussion in the OGT Discord and the Cherry Hills BETA thread I thought Id do a little definitive testing on the effects of altitude and how good the algorithm in PG is. So: Test conditions were basically 2 identical flat driving ranges, one at sea level, one at 1680m / 5183ft, ...

Re: JNPG Simulator Tour - The Playoffs and Tour Championship

Tour Championship Scenarios 1st • If he wins the TOUR Championship, he wins the FedExCup • Has a reasonable chance of winning with a top-five finish • Can finish as low as 29th and still have a mathematical chance of winning+ 2nd • If he wins the TOUR Championship, he wins the FedExCup • Has a reaso...

Re: Simulator Handicap Discussions

So having looked through all the data we have decided to move from a GROSS Bogey ESC to a NET Bogey ESC System This will have the effect that low negative cap players will feel the effect a little, as for a -3 cap player, the 3 easiest holes they will be able to score a max of gross par on that hole...

Re: Simulator Handicap Discussions

For the most part caps work great. However the higher caps of 5 or more are at a big disadvantage imho unless they are rapidly improving/adjusting to sim. I do think ESC for the higher caps (anyone over 5 I think have no shot) at bogey isn’t fair to them. I think there needs to be double bogey for ...

Re: Simulator Handicap Discussions

We could also use the slope rating of each course when we play tourneys to actually determine our daily handicap for that round. That is the purpose of a slope rating This will also be advantageous to the higher handicapper We do sort of do this, ie the index that ends up going towards your cap is ...

Re: Simulator Handicap Discussions

Its so hard to generalise and please everyone, however I would conced that if you look at average net then it looks lie the high cappers are getting a raw deal. However, it is also possible for those high cappers to very easily not have those blow ups, and a system has to protect against that. It co...

Re: Putting

To be honest best advice I can give is head to SOLO Play - Woodys Practice Area in game, (its got a dead flat green), and change game filter to Practice Mode. You can then move the ball around the green using the Ball icon in the lower left and practice putts over and over. I attached a chart which ...
