Re: bounce back issue / moving covers getting destroyed

I ordered the following blanket about 1 year ago and it is still in perfect condition.

Skytrak Short Chips

I've been involved in testing a new beta of JNPG that includes an integration of the short chip shots that Skytrak recently made available in their SDK (developers interface). I probably hit 150 to 200 short game shots so far. I've had some no reads but I think these are related to my Skytrak and no...

I can't believe the recorded shots aren't working. It was the only good shot I hit all round.

I wasn't taking it as criticism. I just think we all have lots to learn still about how to create great golf courses.

Re: JNPG Simulator Tour 2017 - Wyndham Championship @ Sedgefield CC - 2/27 to 3/5 - Tour Event

I posted this question on the PP forums about green smoothness: ------ I am curious how everyone is smoothing greens that were created via Lidar. The first course I created used 1 m Lidar and did not need much smoothing. The second course I created used .5 m Lidar and most of the beta testers commen...

Re: JNPG Simulator Tour 2017 - Wyndham Championship @ Sedgefield CC - 2/27 to 3/5 - Tour Event

I just finished my first round and it was a miserable putting experience. I read the breaks well but I left everything way short. I think I was still used to the last round at Cypress Point.

Re: JNPG Simulator Tour 2017 - Wyndham Championship @ Sedgefield CC - 2/27 to 3/5 - Tour Event

The greens definitely are tricky on this course. One of the beta testers lives within walking distance of the course and has played it IRL. He said that the greens on the sim version are very true to the real course. Regarding the green smoothing, I did smooth them significantly during beta testing....

Re: JNPG Simulator Tour 2017 - WGC Bridgestone Invitational @ Firestone South - 2/13 to 2/19 - Tour Event

I put two holes in my first screen in about 7 -8 months. I upgraded to a different material for my next screen that is supposed to be more durable but sacrifices some of the picture quality. I have had the new screen for about 3 months now and I am already seeing wear. I think the wear is more from ...

Re: JNPG Simulator Tour 2017 - WGC Bridgestone Invitational @ Firestone South - 2/13 to 2/19 - Tour Event

Do I get any additional shots for designing the course? Lol. You should as from what we played today, the greens were smooth. As in no major BLI wiper blade effect when scrolling your line of putt. I know these may have been hand picked pins so that helps, but nice to see a nice setup with rough no...

Re: JNPG Simulator Tour 2017 - WGC Bridgestone Invitational @ Firestone South - 2/13 to 2/19 - Tour Event

I should release Sedgefield for beta in the next few days. There are lots of creeks on this course which has increased the amount of time it takes to design it. As a big fan of Donald Ross, I've had a blast redesigning this one. The greens are a little more undulating than Firestone but that is very...

Re: Increase in yearly from Skygolf for Sim Play

It's been a good day. Skytrak just sent an email that they are giving existing customers a coupon to reduce the cost back to the original price so long as you continue to own your Skytrak. My Skytrak Armour case shipped today so I won't have to be quite as worried when I have people over to play. An...

This is just another reason that I'm very glad that I bought a simulator and JNPG.

Re: How to hit 85% shots

I used the short game combine today for the first time. Great work John. I used to practice on a course when I played 9 holes after work 3 times per week. I would drop 3 or 4 balls around each green and hit them 4 or 5 times per hole. That practice really helped hone my touch. Unfortunately I haven'...

Re: How to hit 85% shots

I didn't realize that all of the new combines were available. I would agree that this is a great way to practice. Pelz also had a test that I did once or twice per year (it requires a fairly empty golf course or a range that has an awesome short game practice area) that you could use to evaluate how...

Re: How to hit 85% shots

Yes it was Dave Pelz who either came up with this method or at least documented it in his Short Game Bible. I bought this when it was first released about 20 years ago. Pelz taught 3 different swings (7:30, 9, 10:30) with 4 different wedges to produce 12 repeatable yardages. If you grip down about 1...

Re: Putting issues today

I seemed to notice putting differences ever since the new update. In general, I feel that I have to hit it harder than I used to. But I also seem to see some inconsistency where the actual distance does not seem to match what I thought. I don't have any data though to back this up. Maybe if I get so...

The OGT Testers will add a few items to their procedures. They will find a way to test tree and other colliders when testing. This was probably missed because PC guys aren't hitting it in the trees. Well I'm your man if you ever need trees tested  I'm also good for testing trees. I t...

Re: Golf Gimmicks

I have purchased two and both helped me. One is the Right Angle. At that time that I bought it, my swing was getting too long (probably 20 degrees past parallel) and this helped me prevent might right elbow (I'm a righty) from getting past 90 degrees. This helped me learn to shorten my swing. The ot...
